Feng Shui Bagua Map

Feng Shui uses an essential tool called the bagua or energy map of a home or business to asses the chi flow.  This energy  map consists of eight trigrams or life aspects derived from the I Ching.
Each gua corresponds with different life areas, with the center representing health and
 balance.
The major areas are career and life path, knowledge and cultivation, health and family, wealth and good luck, fame and reputation, love and relationships, children and creativity, and helpful people and travel. Standing at the front entrance, the bagua is then superimposed onto your floor plan, aligning the entrance along either the knowledge, career, or helpful people gua. The center front will then be located in the career and life path, the front left will be located in the knowledge and spirituality area , the middle left will be located in the health and family area, and so on. By placing the bagua over your floor plan, it is easy to determine what part of your house represents which part of your life.

The Major Life Aspects of the Bagua

Career

When this area is in balance, life seems to flow smoothly and freely, opportunities present themselves easily and our life purpose is clear and visible. This area is represented by the element of water, the colors black and navy blue, and wavy or odd shapes. Enhance this area with the water element by placing a fountain, an aquarium, picture of a waterfall or use the appropriate color or shape.

We are also recognized and appreciated for all we do, and our businesses sustain a  good reputation. When this area is in balance, we enjoy travel to places we desire and also recieve help from people when we need it. It is represented by the element of metal, circular and dome shapes, and the colors gold, white, and grey.  Enhance this area by adding metal and circular objects, and pictures of the places you desire to travel to

The most auspacious homes are those that are either square or rectangular in shape, which consist of all eight trigrams. Unfortunately our homes are usually not built that way and are missing part of the map especially here in Arizona. When a part of the bagua is missing in your home or business, that aspect of your life may be lacking. For example, if your money corner is missing, money and abundance might be hard to come by or difficult to hang on to.  Curing missing corners is necessary to complete that energy so wealth and prosperity can begin to flow.

When assesing the bagua map, determine what areas of life needs improvement, and simply locate that area in your home or business. Is the area cluttered or dark? Does it represent the appropriate element or is it being weakened? Is this the room that is used for storage and constantly ignored? Is there anything broken in this space? This alone could very well cause disturbances in that part of your life. Cleaning and decluttering will allow for accumelated and stangant chi to flow, in turn shifting the energy created in your life and allow for abundance and improvement.
